The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay’s ForumPlus and Businesses for the Bay programs are teaming up to host a joint Forum in Smithfield, Virginia on June 21st.
The combined Forum aims to provide a space for business professionals and watershed, conservation, and community groups to come together in a day of discussion surrounding local environmental issues, sea level rise, and coastal resiliency in the region.
The Keynote Speaker for the Smithfield Forum is Brian Ballard, the Regional Community Plans and Liaison Officer for the U.S. Navy. We will also hear from representatives from the Chrysler Museum of Art, Old Dominion University, Smithfield Foods, and the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital about what they are doing to combat sea level rise and other environmental issues at their facilities.
The Forum will include group breakout sessions, plenty of opportunity for networking and idea sharing, resources for funding and partnerships, and more!
Registration (including lunch) is free for NGOs, Students, Governments, and Businesses for the Bay Members and Sponsors, and $15 for other businesses.
For more information about the Forum, visit the Businesses for the Bay website.
