Tell Me a Story

Children ages 3 to 5 and their families are invited to visit the Isle of Wight County Museum for Tell Me a Story, a monthly program designed to introduce youngsters to the symbols of Isle of Wight County through books, games and crafts.

The story times are offered from 10 to 10:30 a.m. The winter/spring schedule for Tell Me a Story includes Jan. 21, Feb. 18, March 8, April 21 and May 19.

Themes for each program are as follows:
January 21: Owls
February 18: Snowflake Mittens
March 8: Johnny Appleseed
April 21: Birds
May 19: Ladybugs

Reservations are not required although groups of 10 or more are asked to contact the museum prior to the event.

Interpreting local history, the museum’s exhibits include prehistoric fossils, Native American and Colonial artifacts, a country store and the museum’s most notable artifact - the world’s oldest, edible cured ham. The 1902 pork product exemplifies the patented Smithfield curing process. Admission is $2 for adults.
